Apple Might Unveil a Gen AI Website During the WWDC 2026 Event, Report Shows
In Focus
- Apple has registered the www.genai.apple.com subdomain
- The GenAI website could serve as a hub for all Apple AI offerings
- AI is expected to feature prominently at Apple’s WWDC keynote
Apple is reportedly building a Gen AI website ahead of its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The tech company might showcase the new website, whose domain name is genai.apple.com, at the event which is scheduled for June 8 to June 12, 2026. It’s not clear what the goal of Apple’s Gen AI website is, but there are indications that AI will dominate the WWDC 2026 event.
What the New Domain Shows About Apple’s WWDC Focus
Previous speculations, events that the company has held over the last two years, coupled with AI’s growing prominence in the tech industry mean that Apple had to make AI an important part of the WWDC keynote this year.
The new website has not gone live yet. Currently, the page returns an error message, while a random subdomain search shows the domain is registered. This means Apple may be planning to do something with the new subdomain. Since the Gen AI website is a subdomain, and not a webpage, it could serve as a stand alone platform with different pages, interactive features, and systemic indexing.
The subdomain may also serve as a hub for all AI offerings that Apple will be introducing moving forward. Even so, questions have emerged over the need for an AI-dedicated site considering that the company already runs an Apple Intelligence page. Apple’s subdomain registration cements the fact that AI will be a major part of the WWDC 2026 conversation.
Siri Upgrade Expected at the WWDC
As Apple discusses AI at the WWDC event, the main focus will be on the Siri AI upgrade. Apple has delayed the AI assistant’s update for two years. Following a recent deal with Google Gemini earlier this year, most users expect the company to unveil a revamped version of the digital assistant at the event.
The iPhone maker is expected to announce other AI-related updates during the event, including enhancing access to Visual Intelligence through the Camera application and providing more AI editing options for photos. Apple is also expected to announce wider AI changes, including allowing users to decide the third-party AI provider to use.
Apple’s WWDC event will be coming up weeks after Google unveiled multiple AI-powered products at the annual I/0 event. Last week, the tech giant unveiled Gemini 3.5, a new family of AI models set to launch next month. The company also introduced two AI agents designed to enhance personal productivity among users and are accessible to subscribers only.
What Next for Apple’s AI Branding?
Apple may either retain the Apple Intelligence branding for its AI features or rebrand the platform as “Gen AI,” with more clarity expected at the upcoming event. Apple has not officially confirmed any changes, these details emerge from leaks and industry speculation.
