Anthropic’s New Connectors Bring Claude Capabilities to Adobe, Blender

In Focus

  • The new connectors enable Claude to complete tasks on third-party platforms
  • Claude AI accesses over 50 tools on Adobe’s Creative Cloud apps
  • The connectors also integrate Claude into Autodesk, Ableton, Splice and Affinity by Canva

Anthropic has released new connectors that enable Claude to complete creativity tasks on third-party platforms. The AI developer worked with design software brands, including Adobe, Blender, and Autodesk, to develop the new Claude creative connectors. Anthropic introduced the new connectors days after launching an AI-powered design and visual output tool called Claude Design.

Claude Works as a Helpful Assistant

Anthropic’s Claude creative tools are likely built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the universal standard for connecting AI chatbots with external data sources and tools. The AI firm said its chatbot will complete actions within third-party platforms.

However, the plan is not for Claude Model Context Protocol connectors to act as fully autonomous, end-to-end creative agents. Rather, Anthropic wants its chatbot to function as a helpful assistant that automates repetitive, manual tasks. When connected to Adobe, Claude AI can access more than 50 tools in Creative Cloud apps to support image, video, and design creation.

The connector introduces a new way to bring your creative vision to life, right inside Claude. Install it, then describe what you want to achieve and the connector helps you get to the outcome – orchestrating multi-step workflows across Creative Cloud apps, drawing on pro-grade tools from Photoshop, Illustrator, Firefly, Express, Premiere, Lightroom, InDesign and Stock,” Adobe noted on its website.

Anthropic integrates Claude AI into Adobe days after the design software firm launched an agentic AI system called CX Enterprise. The new platform uses AI agents to scale personalized customer experiences.

How Will Claude AI Help With Design Workflows?

Anthropic outlined the different ways Claude AI will support workflows requiring imagination and creativity. On Autodesk, the AI chatbot can help users to create and modify 3D models using prompts. Running on the Digital Audio Workstation Ableton, the chatbot can offer more accurate and context-aware assistance to users.

Further, Claude AI integration with Blender will enable 3D artists to analyze and debug scenes and develop “custom scripts to batch-apply to objects in a scene”. Anthropic added that its new connectors allow Claude to add new tools to Blender’s interface.

Anthropic’s new connectors can also integrate Claude into Splice and Affinity by Canva. On Splice, the chatbot can help users search catalogs to find royalty-free music samples. On Affinity, Claude can automate repetitive tasks like renaming layers, exporting files, and adjusting batch images.

It’s important to note that Canva is among the few platforms where Anthropic’s Claude Design can export its output. Anthropic recently updated its third-party policy to restrict how external tools interact with its AI models.

What the New Update Means for Anthropic

Anthropic’s move to release creative connectors reflects a shift toward design and creativity-driven tasks. Instead of moving closer to vibe coding, the AI company appears to be focusing more on streamlining and improving creative processes through automation.
