Meta Connect 2026 is Meta's annual conference for AI, AI glasses, and virtual reality. The event runs September 23-24, 2026, at Meta's Menlo Park, California, campus, with a free livestream. CEO Mark Zuckerberg delivers the keynote on September 23 at 4:00 PM PT, followed by developer sessions on September 24.
Meta has teased a new pair of smart glasses for the event, while reports point to a camera-free glasses line, a next-generation mixed reality headset known as Project Phoenix, and updates to the Muse AI models.
This will be the first Meta Connect since Meta Superintelligence Labs launched the Muse family in April 2026, although Meta has not confirmed any of these product details.
The agenda also includes sessions on development paths for Meta VR and AI glasses across Unity, Unreal, web, WebXR, Android, and the Spatial SDK, along with sessions reportedly covering web apps for Meta Ray-Ban Display and multimodal development with Muse Spark.

Meta has confirmed the themes of the keynote, not the products. The list below separates what Meta has teased from what reports say.
New smart glasses (teased by Meta): Zuckerberg teased a new pair of glasses on Instagram when Meta announced the Connect dates in May. Meta has not named the product, price, or release date.
Camera-free glasses (reported): The Information reports that Meta will unveil camera-free glasses, codenamed Luna, that ship this fall. The report lists six microphones, a quick-action button for Meta AI, and slimmer temple arms. The move follows growing privacy scrutiny of camera glasses.
Project Phoenix headset (reported): Leaked images show a slim, standalone mixed reality headset that pairs with a pocketable compute puck. Road to VR reports that Meta is likely to unveil it at Connect. Its name, price, and release date are unconfirmed, and industry trackers do not expect a Quest 4 launch in 2026.
Hologram-like video calls (reported): The Information reports that Zuckerberg and CTO Andrew Bosworth will demo photorealistic calls built on Codec Avatars. It is unclear whether this will be a product launch or a research preview.
Meta Ray-Ban Display updates: Meta Ray-Ban Display is the $799 pair of glasses with a color display in the right lens. Developer sessions are expected to cover apps for it.
Demos and special guests (teased by Meta): Zuckerberg's teaser listed demos, special guests, and AI updates. Meta has not named the guests.
Meta has not published a list of Meta Connect AI announcements. The likely focus is the Muse model family from Meta Superintelligence Labs and how it powers Meta AI, glasses, and developer tools.
Muse Spark model family: Meta Superintelligence Labs introduced Muse Spark on April 8, 2026, as the first model in the Muse series. Meta released Muse Spark 1.2 on August 5 and Muse Spark 1.3 on September 2.
Meta AI on glasses: Muse Spark began rolling out to Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta glasses in the US and Canada in May 2026. It reached Meta Ray-Ban Display through a software update in July.
Personal agents: Alexandr Wang, Meta's chief AI officer, told Axios that Muse Spark 1.3 helps pave the way for upcoming products such as personal agents.
Developer AI tools: Meta released Muse Code, a terminal coding agent, in beta on August 5. Muse Code and the Meta Model API give developers direct access to Muse Spark.
More than a product launch, this event stands out for three reasons.
Glasses are Meta's main hardware bet: Meta says AI glasses are one of the fastest-growing consumer electronics categories in history. Google's Android XR partners and Snap's Specs now compete in that space, and any new camera model faces public scrutiny over privacy.
It is the first Connect since the Muse models: Muse Spark 1.3 arrived three weeks before the event. Meta's chief AI officer says the model is closing the gap with top rivals, and Connect shows how that work reaches consumers and developers.
The future of Meta's VR line is open: Meta's last Quest launch, the Quest 3S, came in October 2024. A headset preview would signal Meta's direction, and its absence would leave the question open.
